A Third DELTABEAM® Project with Sifton Properties

Riverstone Phase II is currently under construction in London, Ontario and is Peikko Canada’s third with developer Sifton Properties LLC. One of the main features of Riverstone Phase II is that it is being constructed with green technologies and sustainable materials. An interesting fact about this project is that once completed, the building is set to generate 270,000 kilowatts of energy per year via the sun.

Cornerstone Architecture Incorporated has been tasked with designing the building, while VanBoxmeer and Stranges Engineering Limited has been chosen for the structural engineering portion of the project. D Grant Construction is the is the contractor and Coreslab Structures in Ontario is the hollow-core supplier.

In this 8-storey retirement home totaling 11,799 m², DELTABEAM® is used in conjunction with hollow-core slabs, wide flange steel columns and steel beams.

Speed of construction is one of the most appealing features of precast concrete. Less than 5 days after DELTABEAM® was concreted, D. Grant Construction was already framing the perimeter wall. It is very quick to enclose; the minimal amount of scaffolding lets other trades closely follow the construction process.

The building is set to be completed sometime in 2023.
