18 MONTH BUILDING SCHEME FOR MULTIFUCTIONAL SPORTS ARENA

In the construction of the new LIPO PARK sports arena in Schaffhausen, Switzerland,  Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Peikko's DELTABEAM® Frame were part of the 18 month building schedule. Building design and planning using BIM contributes to a fast, efficient and reliable construction process.

Developed for fast and efficient construction

In projects like LIPO Park, BIM (Building Information Modeling) is used to exchange and network data with all stakeholders to meet tight budgets, limited manpower and accelerated schedules.

An Innovative Combination of Business and Pleasure

LIPO Park boasts a full-scale soccer stadium with 8,000 seats and a retail and business area of 10,000 m². The 700 m² open space VIP hall for up to 600 guests has been created with DELTABEAM®, making it the largest rentable facility for events in the Schaffhausen area. Along the main building, there is also a 1,000 m² terrace.

Ground floor will be rented for retail, office and restaurant functions. The anchor tenant in the business area is the Swiss furniture giant LIPO Einrichtungsmärkte AG.

Prefabricated Structure means massive Time Savings

For about € 55 million, the multifunctional soccer stadium was constructed in just 18 months. The work began on August 2015 and was completed in February 2017, while the retail and business area opened already in November 2016.

LIPO Park is constructed using DELTABEAM® Frame, consisting of composite beams and composite columns. The Peikko delivery is a key part of the 2,500 tons of steel incorporated into the building.

Had the developers chosen a cast-in-situ structure for the project, the construction phase would have been at least a year longer.
