Danfoss House in Sønderborg is going to raise the bar for sustainability in an ordinary residential building.

Danfoss and the Bitten and Mads Clausen Foundation, is building Danfoss House - which will be one of the most sustainable residential buildings in the world, built with traditional building materials and already existing energy-efficient technologies. The new Danfoss House, which is being built on Als Strædet in Sønderborg, will be completed in 2023. The house will function both as housing for Danfoss expatriate employees from all over the world and as a test and demonstration center for Danfoss' energy-efficient technologies.

An extraordinarily high level of ambition is maintained for sustainability, where the aim is both to get as close to CO2 neutrality as possible - and to achieve a DGNB Platinum certification.

With such a high ambition, all materials and solutions must be as sustainable as possible. Peikko's DELTABEAM® Green Composite Beams have been chosen for the project. DELTABEAM® Green is produced from a minimum of 90% recycled steel and using renewable energy, is EPD certified and is transported using biodiesel or environmentally compensated fuel.
